About the Authors

Jill Barber is an acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter, Juno nominee, and multiple East Coast Music Award winner. AN Ontario natuve and graduate of Queen's University, Jill spent six years in Halifax developing her music career before following her heart across the country to Vancouver, where she now lives with her husband. Baby's Lullaby first appeared on a CD compilation for Read To Me, a program that promotes early literacy in Nova Scotia.

Sydney Smith is a children's book illustrator and author. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with his wife and two sons. He has received multiple awards for his illustration and writing, including the 2024 Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration.

Contributor Notes

Jill Barber is an award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter. Over the course of a ten-year career as a professional musician, she has released four albums of original music, an album of classic French covers, and a baby board book, Baby's Lullaby , based on a lullaby she wrote for Nova Scotia's Read to Me literacy program. She lives in Vancouver with her husband and son.
