About the Authors
Jill Barber is an acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter, Juno nominee, and multiple East Coast Music Award winner. An Ontario native and graduate of Queen’s University, Jill spent six years in Halifax developing her music career before following her heart across the country to Vancouver, where she now lives with her husband. Baby’s Lullaby first appeared on a CD compilation for Read To Me, a program that promotes early literacy in Nova Scotia. This is Jill’s first children’s publication. HildaRose lives and works in Prospect Bay, Nova Scotia. Trained as a graphic designer, she worked in museums for many years but now works in her home studio on various graphic design and illustration projects, as well as studying towards a MEd. She has illustrated several children’s books, including the baby board book Kisses, Kisses Baby-O!

SYDNEY SMITH is the creator of Small in the City, which received the Kate Greenaway Medal and the Ezra Jack Keats Award. Other books he has illustrated include The White Cat and the Monk by Jo Ellen Bogart; Sidewalk Flowers by JonArno Lawson; and Town Is by the Sea by Joanne Schwartz, which received the Kate Greenaway Medal. His other accolades include two Governor General’s Awards and four New York Times Best Illustrated Book of the Year citations. He is also the illustrator of I Talk Like a River by Jordan Scott, which received the Schneider Family Book Award and the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award, and My Baba’s Garden, also written by Jordan Scott. Sydney lives with his family in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Jill Barber is an award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter. Over the course of a ten-year career as a professional musician, she has released four albums of original music, an album of classic French covers, and a baby board book, Baby's Lullaby , based on a lullaby she wrote for Nova Scotia's Read to Me literacy program. She lives in Vancouver with her husband and son.
